And now we all return to waiting for tomatoes and corn, especially after both showed off this year in delivering major flavor goodness. We had our share of tomato sandwiches on Chips Pain de Mie with Dukes Mayo, of course.
Chip showcased the corn with his Sweetbreads, lardons, mushrooms. Roussanne forward Rhone Blanc poured table side. Heirloom Tomatoes times deux!
Hand rolled Tagliarini with a slow reduction of tomatoes, onion, garlic, basil. Finished with toasted buttery breadcrumbs and Pecorino. Jurancon Sec! And, a salad of Heirloom Tomato, cucumber, market greens, brioche croutons with a little Bleu Cheese souffle. Trebbiano in the glass.
Speaking of fashion. Did you all catch the press releases during Fashion Week this year?? I mean, the designers are bringing it. Everything so gorgeous, so indulgent, worthy of all that swagger.
New York City is truly back to being NYC in all caps.
Streets are packed. Theatre, art and music venues are jumpin’. The bustle is happening and it fills you up with that recipe of energy and creative juice. I so enjoy catching that feeling and it brings back the memories of when I first came here, many moons ago.
Chip and I skipped a vacation in our first year of opening, wanting to focus on continuing to welcome all of you in, celebrating the joy of calling our new house “home.” We continue to feel blessed in our good fortune of all of the support and friendship you show to us. Thank you for feeding us with the spirit you bring.
Stop in and say hello. I will pour something yummy to enjoy with you. Pop back to see Chip in the kitchen (if you come after 5:30 you can swipe a warm roll off of the speed rack!)
Until next time, a la prochaine, enjoy the delicious weather, take good care of yourself and those around you. Eat food that makes you happy and do not settle for wines that aren’t delish.
